Join us for one of the final Open Weekends at Moat Brae before it is closed for the final phase of works.
The best bit is that we will also be celebrating Roald Dahl‘s Birthday! This great children’s writer would have been 100 years old on 13th September, so come along and celebrate – it would be phizz-whizzing if you came along dressed as The BFG, Matilda, one of the Twits or perhaps a Giant Peach! There will be storytelling with Renita Boyle as well as quizes and art activities all based on the gloriumptious world of Dahl.
What’s more you can see Moat Brae and find out more about what we have planned for The National Centre for Children’s Literature and enjoy an exhibition of photographs by Margaret Elliott celebrating the work of architect Walter Newall who designed Moat Brae in 1823.
Please be aware that Moat Brae is mid-restoration and not yet fully accessible. Please click here to see advice to visitors.
Open to all ages. All children must bring along a grown-up!
