Pirate Gathering for Christmas Lights Switch On

The Pirates gathered for an epic battle with Peter Pan on the roof of Midsteeple in the centre of Dumfries last night (Sunday 2nd December).  Peter Pan fought off Captain Hook to release the key that would switch on the Christmas Lights.

The Pirates were in town because of the Mutiny event at Moat Brae the day before as young people from Dumfries stole the keys to the Enchanted Land where Peter Pan began and opened the doors to the public for the first time since the Georgian House has been restored. This special event was part of the Dreams for the Future Festival organised by The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust and JMB Creatives for Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018.

Visitors were treated to a series of events and activities which gave a sneak peek into the place that inspired Peter Pan creator JM Barrie, giving them a taste of  what is to come.  Moat Brae will open for new adventures as a National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling in Spring 2019.
