Carnival Event Producer
The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust is seeking an Event Producer to plan, coordinate and manage a carnival event in Dumfries as the highlight of the town’s Christmas Lights Switch On Celebrations which take place on Sunday 2nd December 2018 .
The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust (PPMBT) would like to engage an Event Producer to plan and deliver a spectacular carnival element to celebrate and look ahead to the forthcoming opening of Moat Brae, Birthplace of Peter Pan as a National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling in Spring 2019. The aim is to involve the whole community in an inspirational celebration of the town’s creativity and heritage, putting young people and the themes of Peter Pan centre-stage to round off this hugely successful Year of Young People.
The event, entitled CrocRock Carnival, will form a central element in Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Christmas Lights Switch On and the successful candidate will be expected to liaise closely with council staff and volunteers as well as other partner community groups.
The successful candidate will take the lead on the planning, production and day to day management of event, assessing risks and directing artistic decisions in collaboration with the Trust. The Carnival Event Producer will report to and be supported by PPMBT staff and is encouraged to involve young volunteers (JMB Creatives
) as much as possible in co-design of the event.
The CrocRock Carnival event forms an important part of the Trust’s Dreams for the Future Festival, which runs from 24th November – 2nd December which represents the Trust’s commitment to the Scottish Year of Young People.
This is paid commission. The full brief will be available upon request and individuals and groups are encouraged to submit expressions of interest.
