Obstacle Course Designed By Children Raises Over £2k for Moat Brae

moatbrae, July 8, 2016

Can you do the Fairy Slalom? The children at Bookwell School can – in fact they’ve designed a whole Neverland-themed obstacle course and used it to raise over £2,100 for Moat Brae!!!!

With over 200 children taking part – that’s some school sports day!

“Bookwell hope to have helped Moat Brae get to its target so children can go and enjoy the garden just like J.M.Barrie used to go and play with his friends.”

Mark, our Creative Learning Officer had a great time at Bookwell Primary school, Cumbria yesterday. He met pupils and staff, and picked up a generous sponsorship cheque raised by their Neverland-themed sports day. Mrs Fawcett’s Y5 class designed a brilliant Peter Pan themed obstacle course; it’s such a creative idea to combine literature with a sports challenge. Here at the PPMBT we are very grateful for their support and inspired by the sports day idea. Learning Officer Mark, gave a short talk at assembly and then got some feedback from the children on some of our exciting Neverland Garden designs. Huge thanks to Mr Hardy, Mrs Fawcett and her class.

Some of the children had visited Moat Brae earlier in the month and then reported back to the whole school.  See their presentation by clicking here and their sports reports on the Obstacle Course in the gallery below.
