“We Are Scotland” goes deeper into the lives of Scots. … It has been said that everyone has a book in them, I’m not sure that’s true but I do believe that everyone has a story in them. Life happens, it brings challenges and triumphs to us all, nobody escapes. This book is all about the experiences Scots, and those who have adopted Scotland as their home country, have had or are going through, it’s a snapshot in time. The book is intended as a non-judgemental platform, with no news agenda, just a way of letting the story breathe on its own. Find Out More and Pledge Your Support…
Deborah is a broadcast journalist with 20 years’ experience. She began in commercial radio as a reporter before moving on to flagship news programmes at BBC Scotland. Deborah has covered a wide range of stories from terrorist attacks, murder trials and elections to music festivals and live marriage proposals. She has wanted to be an author since the age of 10 but thought journalism was a more realistic way of earning a living from telling stories. Deborah loves travelling and has volunteered in Zambia, visited the Galapagos Islands and hiked the Machu Picchu trail. She lives with her partner, their young daughter and rescue dog in Southern Scotland. Panic grips her if a book is outwith her reach.
