Cumbrian Connections

moatbrae, June 9, 2016

We were delighted to host a visit from Bookwell School in Cumbria today. Moat Brae opened its doors and welcomed an enthusiastic and knowledgable group of children who had a great time learning about JM Barrie and imagining what the house would have been like when he played there with his friends, the Gordon brothers.
The children were fascinated by discovering details of the beautiful Georgian house and wondering if these may have crept into the story of Peter Pan…
The children were most surprised to learn that the house was built without bathrooms and explored the stores and outhouses through the basement.
Have you seen the secret cave under the stairs yet? Perhaps you would like to visit and find the link between horses and the walls at Moat Brae? Would you like to arrange a visit for your school? Find out more about us here: https://www.peterpanmoatbrae.org/schools/
These inventive and creative children are heading back to Cumbria now where they are designing a Peter Pan/Neverland inspired obstacle course to raise funds for The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust later this month. Watch this space for more information 🙂
