Want to be part of one of the biggest things to happen to Dumfries??

JMB Creatives: Stealing the keys to Moat Brae from Captain Hook!

We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious young people to help develop our plans for Moat Brae.

Who  Will Be There?
The meetings are led by our friendly, creative team and the JMB Creatives is made up of young people just like you.  We keep the groups small and the atmosphere relaxed.

We will present a range of specific projects to you and we really want to find out what you think and hear your views and ideas. Sometimes we will just talk, other times we may ask you to help us test some designs and activities that could end up in the National Centre for Children’s Literature and Storytelling or the Neverland Discovery Garden.  You can volunteer and help organise events.  We will be offering volunteering opportunities which you can link with Duke of Edinburgh, Saltire or Go Getters Awards.

Why Do We Need You?
When Moat Brae opens in 2018 it will be a place for young people, we need your help us test our ideas and make sure Moat Brae becomes a vibrant part of Dumfries and a major visitor attraction for visitors from all over the world.

Who Should Apply?
Anyone aged 10-21 can apply. We don’t expect you to have any experience as the meetings will be led by our creative team. You don’t even need a special interest in reading… but if you want to help make your town special, like a challenge and want to get involved in something fun and exciting that can make a difference to Dumfries, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What Do You Get Out Of It?

This kind of opportunity is great for your CV or Personal Statement. You can gain valuable experience in developing ideas and working in teams in a fun and friendly environment.  It’s a great way to improve your practical and organisational skills, to network and learn how good ideas can be turned into practice and how major projects are planned and carried out.

If this could be you please get in touch.  This voluntary, advisory role is open to anyone aged 14-21 but you do need to apply as numbers are limited.

Youth Forum with Glitter


Let us know you are interested in joining The Youth Forum and if you’d like to become a PPMBT Young Volunteer.  We will ask for your name, age and contact details.

We will get in touch with you for a short chat by phone or email (not an interview!). Places on the Youth Forum will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  (If you are under 18 you will need the Parental consent and emergency contact details
